Initial Data

Meudon Initial Data

The Meudon Group have provided initial data for binary black holes and binary neutron stars, and the codes for importing this data onto a Cartesian grid for reading into Cactus.

Binary black holes

The data results from computations published in P. Grandclement, E. Gourgoulhon & S. Bonazzola, Phys. Rev. D 65, 044021 (2002).

Data files

The binary black hole data is publically available from the EU Network CVS Repository, in the module Meudon/Data/BinBH.

Code for reading the data

The code for reading this data and importing into Cactus is publically available from the Lorene CVS repository , in the module Lorene/Export. The code uses a very simple C++ class Bin_BH, documentation for which is available in HTML or postscript formats.
